How do I make an ointment out of lemon balm herb?

I'm using it as an insect repellent, and I'm going to store it in a jar.

You would really need the essential oil ideally as the insect repellent properties of the plant are in the essential oil. Here is an example of one pre-prepared product for that purpose...[link posted by way of example....not promoting a product]:

However, here is a recipe to extract the oil from the leaves, using olive oil:

You could try that but not sure it would be potent enough...but certainly try it.
